Learn How To Build Your Own House Using Our FREE Easy To Follow House Blueprints!

From The Desk Of: Russell Freeman

    Fellow Builder

I set this website up because I love all aspects of building and design, particularly house blueprints. However, I hate the exclusive, snobby attitude that some architects have. A well designed house should be accessible to everyone. That’s why I want to share my house building secrets with as many people as possible.

Since you’ve found this website I’m assuming you love house building as much as I do. The truth is, I’m always on the internet looking for house blueprints and building tips. While doing some research, I stumbled upon a fantastic manuscript by Mr Henry Russell Emmerson.

Mr Emmerson - Professor Of Architectural Engineering, La Sierra College - is one of the most well known and respected builders in recent history.

I noticed that most of his work was available online with the exception of one of the most important pieces of work, ‘How To Build A House’. Even though it was first published in 1962, this book has the best house building information I have ever seen.

In the 14 chapters here’s just a snippet of what is covered:

    • What to look for when selecting a lot to build your new house on
    • How to choose the best utilities— gas or electricity, solar or not
    • Tips and tricks to pick the best view
    • Considering your budget for a block and knowing where to look
    • Recognizing hidden traps to make sure you’re getting a clear title
    • Positioning your house to utilize the weather and reduce electricity bills
    • Planning your home for your desired comfort and livability
    • How to create optimum space for your family and pets

If this is the kind of information that you have been looking for, here’s the good news…

I have contacted the original copyright owners and gained permission to republish Mr Henry Russell Emmerson’s complete work on this website. Although I had to pay to have the manuscript reformatted and published online, house blueprints are my passion. Therefore, I want to share this book with as many people as possible for free.

The information is second to none and you’ll soon have a beautiful and functional house that will be the envy of your neighbours.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

    Cheers and Happy Building

    Russell Freeman

    Tips to Effective Interior Designs
Home is the place where everyone's heart dwells, no matter how big or small it is. People spend a major part of their life at home sharing our best and happiest moments with loved ones. They rejuvenate after long and hectic schedule that cause all tiredness and tension. To make their stay at home more relaxing and pleasant people make their homes look beautiful by excellent interior designing.

    Tips For Dealing With Contractors
This week we discuss how to find a capable building contractor to build out the location. And as this series has been thus far, this segment is based on my personal experience and offered to you warts and all. As with all of my columns only the names have been changed to protect the innocent, the ignorant, and the overly litigious.

How to Choose a Good Builder
"Rogue builders" although in the minority definitely give the construction industry a bad name and hardly a week goes by without there being yet another TV program about the so called "Builders from Hell". With the help of hidden cameras these "Rogue Builders" are exposed in front of millions of viewers when they blatantly try to cheat customers out of their hard earned cash.

Inside Secrets Banks Don't Want You to Know
If you own vacant land than you will be required at some point to obtain a construction to permanent loan to build your home, and most new home owners are not familiar with them. If you are thinking of building a new home and are considering applying for a construction to permanent loan than here are some key points you should look for. The most popular construction loan today is the "One Time Close" but not all are created equal. Just like any product there are the best loans, good loans and downright bad loans. The loan that you should apply for is simple; ask for the lowest rate, one time close for a specific period of time that you think you'll be living there.

Home Building Software Can Be a Great Help
Designing a home can actually be quite a difficult and technical thing, there are always certain things that people don't feel comfortable doing by themselves and so would always want to leave in the capable hands of a professional. Most people do not bother designing their home renovation project, instead they will get a professional to help them out. Lots of people simply don't realize that they could do all of this planning by themselves and fairly easily too, you can do this using computer software.
